What Are The Uses of Computers?

Most of us often use computers for communication and entertainment. We communicate via email, messages, Facebook, Instagram and many other applications. We get entertainment from those same applications, as well as YouTube, Netflix and so on. Many of us also use computers in our work to enter and view data relevant to our employers.

What are the uses of Computers?

All of this requires networks and audiovisual interfaces, in which computers stand out. Behind the scenes, computers are doing quick and massive calculations, such as decoding MP3 audio and encrypting and decryption data sent over secure connections. But all of this is not visible to (most) of us and occurs in support of the way we use our computers. We typically use smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop computers for these tasks.

Computers are used to control large and small machines that in the past were controlled by humans. They are also in homes, where they are used for things like listening to music, reading news and writing. Modern computers are electronic computer hardware.

There are some main uses of computers below:-

1) Education

Getting the right kind of information is a big challenge, as is making the information make sense. University students spend an average of 5 to 6 hours per week on the Internet. Research shows that computers can significantly improve learning performance. Students exposed to the Internet say they think the Web has helped them improve the quality of their academic research and written work. A revolution in education is the advent of distance learning. It offers a variety of online and video-based courses.

2) Health And Medicine

Computer technology is appreciably converting the tools of medicine.  All medical information can now be scanned. The software is now able to calculate the risk of an illness. Mental health researchers are using computers to screen problem teenagers who need psychotherapy. A patient paralysed by a stroke received an implant that allows communication between his brain and a computer; as a result, he can move a cursor around the screen using his intelligence and convey simple messages.

3) Science

Scientists have been its users for a long time. A new adventure among scientists is the idea of a “collaborative”, a collaborative laboratory based on the Internet, in which researchers from all over the world can easily work together, even from a distance. An example is space physics, where space physicists can come together to measure the Earth's ionosphere from instruments in four parts of the world.

4) Business

Companies clearly see interest as a way to increase productivity and competitiveness. Some business areas that are undergoing rapid changes are sales and marketing, retail, banking, stock trading, etc. Sales representatives not only need to be better educated and informed about their customers' businesses, but they must also be familiar with computer technology. The Internet has become a popular marketing tool. The world of cyber-cash has hit the banking industry - not just smart cards, but also Internet banking, electronic deposit, bill payment, online stock and bond trading, etc.

5) Recreation And Entertainment

Our entertainment and leisure were also affected by computerisation. For example:

  • In films, computer-generated graphics give designers the freedom to allow special effects and even imaginary characters to play a role in creating films, videos and commercials.
  • In sports, computers collect statistics, sell tickets, create training applications and diets for athletes, and suggest sport plan techniques based on a competitor's past performance.
  • In restaurants, almost everyone eats food where the clerk registers an order indicating the options in a cash register with a rather unusual appearance; the device directly inserts the actual data into a computer, calculates the cost and prints a receipt.

6) Government

Several government departments use the computer for their planning, control and law enforcement activities. To name a few - Traffic, Tourism, Information and Broadcasting, Education, Aviation and lots of others.

7) Deference

There are many computers in use in Deference, such as:

  • Controlling UAV or unmanned aircraft, an example is the Predator. If you have cable TV, I recommend watching "Future Weapons" and "Modern Marvels". The gun show of the future gives the predator an entire hour.
  • They are also used in intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) that use GPS and computers to help the missile reach its target.
  • Computers are used to track oncoming missiles and help launch weapon systems at the oncoming target to destroy them.
  • Computers are used to help the military discover where all their resources are (Situational Awareness) and in Communication Systems / Battle Management.
  • Computers are used in the functions of logistics and ordering equipment to and around the battlefield.
  • Computers are used on tanks, planes and ships to target enemy forces, help perform the platform and, more recently, to assist diagnose any issues  with the platforms.
  • Computers help to design and test new systems.

8) Sports

In today's growing technological society, computers are being used in almost every activity.

9) Recording information

Official statistics holders and some scouts use computers to record statistics, take notes and chat online while participating and working at a sporting event.

10) Analysing Movements

The best athletes pay close attention to detail. Computers can slow recorded video and allow people to study their specific movements to try to improve their tendencies and repair bad habits.

11) Writers

Many sports writers participate in various sporting events each week and take their computers to write during the game or shortly after, while their thoughts are still fresh in their mind.

12) Score

Although some leader-boards are updated manually, most professional sports facilities have very modern leader-boards that are programmed to update statistics and information immediately after being entered into the computer.

13) Security

Computers helped design sports safety equipment, such as football helmets, sneakers and mouth-guards.

In our generation, we must know how to operate the computer's function. It is not difficult, but a little difficult to understand all parts of the computer. We use social sites and sites according to our knowledge. But when we think about how all computer networks work, we have a sea of zero questions and answers. When I started thinking about what a computer is and how it is programmed at that age, I already know everything. But my first and last sentence is that we live in the era of robotics and so on. We must know about computers .The truth of my life is that I can't imagine myself without a computer.
