Blocking a Person
When someone blocks another person on Facebook, the blocked person will not be able to see your profile or photos or your posts and status updates. For the blocked person, the other person would simply be invisible. If you try to send a message by continuing a previous conversation, the person will be listed as a "Facebook user". In addition, you wouldn't even see a dialog box where you used to type messages. There will be a simple message "You cannot reply to this conversation".
This usually means that someone has blocked you or disabled your profile. You can confirm with any of your mutual friends, whether they can see the profile or not. If she also cannot see your profile, that person has probably disabled your profile. If they can see the person, it means you are BLOCKED!
Message Blocking
Facebook has another feature to partially block a person who has recently been introduced. That way, someone can choose to block your messages, but it allows you to view your profile, photos, posts and status updates. Suffice to say that someone blocked you just to stay away from your messages,
but that didn't stop you from visiting her profile, enjoying your posts and making comments about them. In that case, the person will be visible. But when you want to send a message, you cannot and will be greeted with the same message as in the case above - "You cannot reply to this conversation"
Observation
- You will only see the message above (in both cases) if you try to send a message using a previous conversation. Otherwise, you will not be able to see them in the Chats section and they will not appear online even when they are if you are blocked by them!
- The dialog box disappears and is replaced by the message on Android Messenger For Facebook! For iOS, you will simply receive a "Sending error" and will not be able to send any messages to the "Facebook user"
